Our Story

We get it. We lived it.

The XLEG wasn't dreamed up in a boardroom. It was built by someone who needed a better way to recover - and refused to settle for crutches.
the founder

From a hospital bed to a workshop.

In 2015, a car accident left Reid Robinson non-weight-bearing on one leg. Like millions of people every year, he was handed a pair of crutches and told to make do. Within days, his underarms were bruised, his wrists ached, and the simplest tasks - carrying coffee, climbing the stairs, getting back to work - had become impossible.

Reid couldn't accept that crutches were the best modern medicine has to offer. So he started building something better, by hand, in his Calgary workshop. The result was the XLEG: a wearable device that frees both hands and lets you walk naturally while you heal. What began as a one person's frustation is now helping people across North America get their lives back.

OUR MISSION

Recovery shouldn’t mean putting your life on hold.

We believe a broken foot shouldn’t break your independence. The XLEG transfers your weight off the
injured leg and onto the strong tissue of your thigh — so your hands stay free, your other joints stay
healthy, and you keep showing up for work, family, and the life you were living before. Designed,
engineered, and manufactured in Calgary by people who’ve recovered on it themselves.

Built With Purpose. Fitted for You.

Every XLEG is made in Calgary from aircraft- grade T6 aluminum - light, strong, and built to last. Over the years, we've refined the design alongside orthopedic specialists and biomedical engineers, dialing in the comfort, balance and safety of every detail.

Because no two bodies are the same, every unit is custom-fitted to your exact measurements before it ships.
